Our Mission
Ethics is ubiquitous in everyday life. From our interactions with friends and family to business, school, and political decisions, every action and inaction is made in the context of ethics. Whether it’s for your individual success or the good of society, ethical literacy is crucial. And, not to mention, very fun! Most schools do not have an ethics bowl program. These include schools with considerable accomplishments and students which need to be introduced to ethics bowls as well as schools without the resources necessary to kickstart an ethics bowl program which need help initiating the club or program. To increase the societal good and enjoyment that comes with ethical literacy, it is our goal to teach students and schools how ethics bowl works and provide training to promote interesting discussion and to prepare for the competition. With this training, we hope to promote the founding of ethics bowl programs in more schools.
Why Ethics/Ethics Bowl?
Because of the competition aspect, Ethics bowl pushes individuals to be their very best and argue their points clearly and concisely. However, Ethics bowl is intended to be collaborative and fosters a community of ethical thinkers.
Ethics governs so many of our day to day decisions. Every decision that you make, you make due to your moral compass. Students being ethically aware can improve the kindness and compassion of our community.
Ethics bowl fosters public speaking skills as students learn to come up with and articulate their own opinions. Ethics Bowl provides an opportunity for students to become ethical leaders within their communities.
